Geum

Looking for the perfect spring fly away? There truly is nothing like a few stems of Geum in a spring bouquet to add a touch of movement and whimsy. Geum is a genus of perennial herbaceous plants in the rose family. They are closely related to strawberries, hence the similarity in boom shape. Geum has numerous colors and forms, all lending to an easy to grow, very hardy perennial existence. We love her!

preparation

Upon arrival, remove your plugs from their box, open their greenhouses, and water well. Harden off and plant out or bump up into larger pots soon after receiving plugs. When planting out be sure you to not bury the crowns. Plant the plugs so that the top of the growing medium is level with the soil.

Cut Flower tips

Harvest flowers when they are half open for longest vase life. Keep flowers cut or deadheaded to prolong the flowering period of the plant. For cut stems should immediately be placed into cool water. Expect a vase life of approximately a week. Use a floral preservative to maximize vase life.
