Arosa 1 Lisianthus features smaller flowers that truly resemble a rose, with smooth petals that curl outward as they open. Petals are thick and sturdy and hold up well in the garden during rainy weather. Arosa 1 typically flowers one or two weeks earlier than Arosa 2.

Exactly What You’ll Receive:

  • Lisianthus Arosa 1 plug plants
  • 8 standard plug plants roughly 1" x 1" x 2"
  • 1 recycled & reusable mini greenhouse

When to Plant:

  • Cool Soil (About 2 weeks before your 'last frost' date in spring)
  • Fall Planted (Approximately 6 weeks before your first frost date in the fall)

While the large fringe types are some of the most popular Lisianthus styles amongst professional growers, "rose types" like the Arosa series certainly hold their own, offering a different look in Lisianthus. They have a medium sized, rounded flower with smooth edges giving a very rose-like appearance. The good part about the smaller flowered varieties is that you get more flowers per stem, and the petals are thick and stand up well to inclement weather.

For best results, Lisianthus should be planted in fertile well-drained soil, in an area that receives full sun. Lisianthus require some specific requirements to grow properly; please visit our Lisianthus Growing Guide to read more on how to keep your Lisianthus happy and healthy.

Lisianthus are generally suitable for fall planting in USDA zones 10 and higher (unprotected), and Zone 9 with additional protection from a hoop house or frost cloth. Any USDA zone below 9 should spring plant their Lisianthus. This is strictly a guideline and we cannot guarantee winter survivability.
