Scabiosa Scoop is a breakthrough interspecific hybrid that displays all of the vigor and size of perennial types, combined with the designer color range of annual Scabiosa–minus annual versions' often tangled and brittle stems. Prized for flower size and productivity, Scoop series plug plants have previously only been available to professional farmers.
Their tall, wiry stems topped with large flower heads are a favorite of floral designers and growers in search of statement blooms. Scabiosa Scoop series are happiest in full-sun cutting gardens, and will produce multiple flushes of flowers throughout the growing season.
Scabiosa Scoop possess exceptional hybrid vigor and can yield up to 50 stems per plant, per season. Keep these fast-growing plants pruned back or they can become rangy. Keeping up with harvesting and deadheading means more flowers will have a chance to bloom. The best time to plant Scabiosa Scoop plug plants is during the cool season around your last outdoor frost in the spring. Though it is frost tolerant, it may not survive hard freezes, and it may shut down bloom production in extreme heat.
Patent-protected and propagation-prohibited, this variety is a breakthrough in Scabiosa breeding and a game-changer for cut flower enthusiasts.
Scabiosa Scoop series are patented plants bred by Danziger.
