Phlox Fashionably Early (3 plugs)
Ship Week
Whether you call it garden phlox, summer phlox, or tall phlox, hybrid Phlox paniculata is a flowering perennial that returns year after year in USDA hardiness zones 4-8, across most of northern and central USA, its sweetly-scented blooms enchanting both people and pollinators. Choose Fashionably Early Crystal for elegant stars of lavender-white flowers perched atop tall stems; or Fashionably Early Princess for saturated fuchsia-pink, star-shaped blooms clustered atop long stems, one of the earliest varieties to bloom.
Exactly What You'll Receive:
- Phlox plug plants of your chosen variety
- 3 chunky plug plants roughly 2.25" x 1.5" x 2"
- 1 recycled & reusable mini greenhouse
When to Plant:
- Flexible (Can tolerate cool soil or warm soil in spring)
Blooming in mid to late summer just as spring perennials are fading, Phlox paniculata (Polemoniaceae family) brings bright, bold color to the garden with next to no care. These hybrids were bred by plant experts to be more vigorous and disease-resistant than previous cultivars, including resistance to powdery mildew, making them low-maintenance favorites of hands-off gardeners, growers and floral designers. Phlox will be happiest and perform best in sunny, well-drained garden beds. An early pinch sets the stage for long stems topped with starbursts of bright-rayed flowers. Cut spent flower stems down to the ground as they fade to encourage rebloom and multiple flushes per season, extending the harvest window. Enjoy them in the garden, or bring them inside as a long-lived cut flower.
