Ringing in Spring is named for the shape of its blooms - each flower, a perfectly formed bell, hence the common name “Canterbury bells.” This all-Campanula Champion II collection features four unique hues: Deep Blue, Lilac, Pink, and White, which blend beautifully in the late spring garden. Their upright stems and large, bell-shaped flowers are stunning in the garden but can also be brought into the house as long-lasting cut flowers.

When to Plant

  • Fall Planted (Approximately 6 weeks before your first frost date in the fall)

**Campanula Champion II is a day-length sensitive variety that must be planted during short-day conditions to perform well as a cut flower. If planted too early in the fall, or late in the spring - when days exceed 12 hours - it will initiate buds prematurely, often blooming on short stems before the plant is fully established. Fall planting allows the plant to remain vegetative through winter, resulting in strong, tall stems and full flowering in spring.**

The Ringing in Spring collection is generally suitable for fall planting in USDA zones 6 and higher (unprotected), and Zones 5 and below with additional protection from a greenhouse, hoop house or frost cloth. This is strictly a guideline and we cannot guarantee winter survivability.
