These bright orange, rusty red, marigold yellow and golden hues add character and interest to any garden or market bouquet. The prairie-colored variations are capped with a brown center, the source of its new name, brown-eyed Susan. Adaptable and massively prolific, Rudbeckia is a garden bed stunner that attracts pollinators of all types. Planted in sun and watered regularly, it produces long, tall stems not only the first year, but again and again! Thick stems hold up the heavy, bold flower heads nicely and allow for a long vase life. While usually an annual, Rudbeckia will perennialize in some settings, yielding a low-maintenance cutting garden with a wildflower aesthetic.
