Velvet Crush
Planting Guide:
Fall - plant approximately 6 weeks before your first hard freeze date.
The Velvet Crush collection is generally suitable for fall planting in USDA zones 9 and higher (unprotected), and Zones 8 and below with additional protection from a greenhouse, hoop house or frost cloth. Even in zone 9, lisianthus and stock may need protection during extreme lows. In most of the northern and central US it is recommended to wait and plant lisianthus and stock in the early spring. This is strictly a guideline and we cannot guarantee winter survivability.
Early Spring (cold soil) - plant approximately 2 weeks before your last frost date.
There’s something undeniably captivating about deep, velvety reds, the kind that call to mind old-world glamour and the opulence of a grand theatre. Stock 'Vintage Brown' opens the show with antique, dusky red blooms, like faded velvet curtains drawn back to reveal something spectacular. Rudbeckia 'Cherry Brandy' and Daucus 'Purple Kisses' follow, their dark, sultry tones adding depth and texture - imagine red velvet ropes, tasseled and plush, leading to an exclusive experience. When Lisianthus 'Celeb 2 Wine' takes center stage, its ruffled petals unfold like the most decadent crushed velvet gown. These annuals bloom in succession, ensuring a long-lasting display of moody, sophisticated colors, perfect for those who crave something rich and refined.
This collection includes 4 mini greenhouses, each containing 8 plugs of the following varieties:
Stock 'Vintage Brown'
Daucus 'Purple Kisses'
Lisianthus 'Celeb 2 Wine'
Rudbeckia 'Cherry Brandy'
