StoX is a new series of sweetly-scented Stock that is delightful to gardeners and pollinators. Choose from Antique Rose, boasting dense heads of swirled and ruffled flowers bloom in flushed pink, or Champagne's sparkling rosé hues. Stock’s sweet and spicy scent creates unforgettable moments in the garden
Exactly What You’ll Receive
- Stock StoX plug plants
- 8 standard plug plants roughly 1" x 1" x 2"
- 1 recycled & reusable mini greenhouse
When to Plant
- Cool Soil (About 2 weeks before your 'last frost' date in spring)
- Fall Planted (Approximately 6 weeks before your first frost date in the fall)
Like all Stock, StoX plug plants flower best in well-drained soil and full sun. Transplant your plugs in the cool months to allow for a long establishment period; Stock is a cool flower that prefers chilly temperatures, like Pansies. In warmer climates (USDA zones 8+), Stock can be planted in the fall.
Stock StoX is a star amongst flower farmers and gardeners seeking their own scented cutting garden. The sweet, clove-like aroma makes Stock a compelling choice for both green spaces and floral designs. The StoX series possesses the same robust, woody stems, growth habit, shape and structure of the popular Stock Iron series, in a range of compelling, antiqued shades. Expect about 60% of your StoX plants to bloom with fully double flowers, as shown. Though not as densely packed with flowers, singles are just as fragrant and make a lovely addition to mixed bouquets.
Your Stock StoX plug plants will arrive multi-seeded, with 2-3 seedlings in each cell. Multi-seeding ensures an abundant display of double flowers, and helps each stem achieve height. Though Stock has a brief blooming window in the spring and early summer, their memorable scent and ephemeral beauty makes them well worth planting.
Stock StoX is generally suitable for fall planting in USDA zones 9 and higher (unprotected), and Zones 8 and below with additional protection from a greenhouse, hoop house or frost cloth. Even in zone 9, Stock may need protection during extreme lows to avoid damage to the growth point. In most of the US it is recommended to wait and plant Stock in the spring. This is strictly a guideline and we cannot guarantee winter survivability.
