Tithonia Red Torch produces bright orange-red, daisy-like flowers with golden yellow centers on tall, branching plants. Growing 4 to 6 feet tall, it has large, slightly fuzzy leaves and sturdy stems that make it a bold addition to summer gardens. The flowers bloom from midsummer until frost and are a magnet for bees and butterflies. This heat-loving annual is also a useful cut flower with 16+ inch stems. Give this plant a LOT of space in your garden, or else it might shade out less vigorous neighbors. It will perform best in moderately fertile, well-draining soil, in full sun.
