Ship Week

Dianthus Kiwi Mellow Cool (3 plugs)
Ship Week
Dianthus Kiwi Mellow Cool is a fuzzy green variety of dianthus that never truly flowers; the heads remain moss-like in appearance, and add a one-of-a-kind texture to floral arrangements. This isn't the most show-stopping plant in the garden as there is no pop of color, but it's a must-grow for people who like to pick and arrange their own bouquets.
Exactly What You’ll Receive
- Dianthus Kiwi Mello Cool plug plants
- 3 chunky plug plants roughly 2.25" x 1.5" x 2"
- 1 recycled & reusable mini greenhouse
When to Plant
- Cool Soil (About 2 weeks before your 'last frost' date in spring)
Dianthus Kiwi Mellow Cool will perform best if planted before your last frost date, when the weather is still cool and the soil hasn't fully warmed. This is a hybrid with a heavy dose of Dianthus barbatus (aka Sweet William) in the genetic makeup so they will be hardier and more cold tolerant that the true Carnations. How hardy you ask? We simply don't know. They have not been evaluated for field production and have not been tested for cold hardiness. We suspect they will easily take a frost and could possibly be fully hardy, but we simply do not know their winter hardiness, so this is for an adventurous grower who is OK with taking chances.
