Digitalis–better known by its common name, foxglove–are most often biennial plants that require a cold winter treatment to bloom in the spring. The newer Dalmatian series is a first-year flowering annual Digitalis, sporting signature tall spires of nodding, bell-shaped flowers in varying pastel shades to suit all tastes. Perfect for the impatient gardener.

Exactly What You’ll Receive

  • Digitalis Dalmatian plug plants
  • 8 standard plug plants roughly 1" x 1" x 2"
  • 1 recycled & reusable mini greenhouse

When to Plant

  • Cool Soil (About 2 weeks before your 'last frost' date in spring)
  • Fall Planted (Approximately 6 weeks before your first frost date in the fall)

Dalmatian foxglove is a pollinator-friendly annual that is a favorite for cottage-style gardens and whimsical wildflower bouquets. Digitalis Dalmatian is quite hardy when planted in well-draining soil, thriving in either part shade or full sun, and is additionally tolerant of cold spring temperatures. Dalmatian is a first-year flowering variety that can be planted in the fall for blooms the following spring, or in early spring for flowers in the same season.

Digitalis Dalmatian is generally suitable for fall planting in USDA zones 6 and higher (unprotected), and Zones 5 and below with additional protection from a greenhouse, hoop house or frost cloth. This is strictly a guideline and we cannot guarantee winter survivability.

**Our 'Mix' products are grown from a custom seed blend created by the breeder, and we cannot guarantee which colors you will receive. While the mix will likely produce the variety of shades shown, it's also possible for the blooms to be all one color or to slightly differ from the colors represented in the product photos.**
