Geum is an early-blooming hardy perennial that produces delicate, frilly flowers on strong, slender stems. These perennials are cute as a button and look like they would be frail or finicky, but they couldn't be more robust. Blooming around the same time as tulips, these plants bring an early pop of color to the garden and are especially useful in spring floral arrangements. Geums have an extended flowering season and respond well to regular cutting, making them a valuable addition to both cutting gardens and perennial borders.

Exactly What You’ll Receive

  • Geum plug plants
  • 3 chunky plug plants roughly 2.25" x 1.5" x 2"
  • 1 recycled & reusable mini greenhouse

When to Plant

  • Flexible (Can tolerate cool soil or warm soil in spring)

Our collection includes four varieties:

  • ‘Coral Tempest’ blends coral, hot pink, and tangerine
  • ‘Flames of Passion’ features saturated crimson-magenta blooms
  • ‘Mai Tai Cocktail’ offers soft apricot and blush tones
  • ‘Totally Tangerine’ produces bright orange flowers.

Geums are well suited to sunny garden beds and mixed perennial plantings, where their fine stems and colorful blooms add movement and texture. Plant in well-drained soil and keep plants watered during dry periods while they establish. The flowers are excellent for cutting, with slender stems that work well in bouquets and larger floral installations. Regular harvesting encourages continued flowering, allowing you to enjoy these early-season blooms in the garden and the vase.
